International Airport

The Singapore International Airport (Changi Airport - SIN) is located at the eastern part of Singapore. With more than 100 airlines serving 200 cities in 60 countries, Changi Airport is recognised as one of the best airports in the world.

Getting around in Singapore


Train

The airport Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) trains is directly connected to the different terminals of the airport and takes about 40 minutes to reach city.

Shuttle services

The Singapore airport also provides a shuttle service to most hotels in Singapore.

The Airport Shuttle Service serves most hotels in Singapore. Please approach the Ground Transport Desk at the Arrival Halls of each terminal.

   • $6 per Child (below 12 years of age)

Taxi

Taxis are available at the taxi stands at the arrival levels of each terminal and the journey to the city and cost about $30, taking approximately 30 minutes. Fares are metered and there is additional airport surcharge for all trips originating from the airport.

All taxis will be able to provide a printed receipt upon request.

$5 airport surcharge - 5.00pm to 12.00am (Fridays to Sundays)
$3 airport surcharge - all other times
Midnight surcharge at 50% of final metered fare - 12.00am to 6.00am (daily)
Peak hour surcharge at 35% of final metered fare:
   Monday – Friday: 7.00am to 9.30am
   Monday – Saturday: 5.00pm to 8.00pm

Public Bus

Bus stops are located at the basement bus bays of Terminals 1, 2 and 3. Public bus service 36 goes to the city. The first bus arrives at around 6.00am and the last leaves at midnight. A single fare costs below $2.00 and takes about an hour.

Tipping Guidelines

Tipping is not practiced as most hotels and restaurants levy a 10% service charge on customers’ bills for service. Tipping is prohibited in the airport.

Smoking

Smoking is not permitted in public attractions, theatres, cinemas, air-conditioned restaurants, non-air-conditioned eating houses and government offices. Smoking is no longer allowed in all pubs, discos, karaoke bars and nightspots, unless within approved smoking rooms or smoking corners.

Cell Phone/Camera/Video Policy

Participants are requested to switch their cell phones and PDA devices to silent mode before entering meeting rooms. Cameras and all other recording devices are prohibited in the session room during scientific content and in poster presentations. Attendees violating this policy may be asked to leave the room.
